Patch Name: PHSS_9564 Patch Description: s700_800 10.X OpenMail B.05.01 X400 patch Creation Date: 96/12/13 Post Date: 96/12/23 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.01 10.10 10.20 s800: 10.01 10.10 10.20 Products: OpenMail B.05.01 Filesets: OpenMail.OM-CORE,B.05.01 OpenMail.OM-X400,B.05.01 Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Superseded Critical: No Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.X/PHSS_9564 Symptoms: PHSS_9564: 1653188748: X400 I/F leaves temp BP files in /usr/tmp if a bodypart conversion failed. 1653172007: If the X400 mapper receives a message with a T61 attachment which only contains IA5 characters, the attachment remains as T61 in the TF. It should be converted to a Text attachment. 1653175588: Problem with Ack-Id's becoming corrupt PHSS_9412: 1653185959: X400 Out mapper fails to process acknowledgements if thers no CAP in the madmd.cfg file. Defect Description: PHSS_9564: 1653188748: X400 I/F was not cleaning up properly when a body part conversion failed. 1653172007: If the X400 mapper receives a message with a T61 attachment which only contains IA5 characters, the the X400 in-mapper was failing to call a converter. 1653175588: An array containg the ack-id was not being initialised correctly in the X400 in-mapper. PHSS_9412: 1653185959: Since Ack Transaction files do not contain a Creator record, when there is no CAP in madmd.cfg the mapper cannot determine the Global Domain and so discarded the ack. New general.cfg options have now been added to set up the default Global domain for Openmail. Back up your system before installing a patch. 2. Login as root. 3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory. 4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch: cd /tmp sh PHSS_9564 5a. For a standalone system, run swinstall to install the patch: swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true \ -s /tmp/PHSS_9564.depot 5b. For a homogeneous NFS Diskless cluster run swcluster on the server to install the patch on the server and the clients: swcluster -i -b This will invoke swcluster in the interactive mode and force all clients to be shut down. WARNING: All cluster clients must be shut down prior to the patch installation. Installing the patch while the clients are booted is unsupported and can lead to serious problems. The swcluster command will invoke an swinstall session in which you must specify: alternate root path - default is /export/shared_root/OS_700 source depot path - /tmp/PHSS_9564.depot To complete the installation, select the patch by choosing "Actions -> Match What Target Has" and then "Actions -> Install" from the Menubar. 5c. For a heterogeneous NFS Diskless cluster: - run swinstall on the server as in step 5a to install the patch on the cluster server. - run swcluster on the server as in step 5b to install the patch on the cluster clients. By default swinstall will archive the original software in /var/adm/sw/patch/PHSS_9564. If you do not wish to retain a copy of the original software, you can create an empty file named /var/adm/sw/patch/PATCH_NOSAVE. Warning: If this file exists when a patch is installed, the patch cannot be deinstalled. Please be careful when using this feature. It is recommended that you move the PHSS_9564.text file to /var/adm/sw/patch for future reference. To put this patch on a magnetic tape and install from the tape drive, use the command: dd if=/tmp/PHSS_9564.depot of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k Special Installation Instructions: SUBSYSTEM_SHUT ---------------------------------------------------------- SR1653185959 ------------ The following options can now be added to general.cfg in order to specify the Global Domain of Openmail. These will only be used by the out-mapper if there are no CAP attributes in the madmd.cfg file, which in turn are only used if there is no CAP in the Creator TF record. X4_DOMAIN_C= - country e.g. GB X4_DOMAIN_ADMD= - Admd e.g. GOLD_400 X4-DOMAIN_PRMD= - Prmd e.g. HP ---------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: OpenMail must be shutdown before installing this patch.
