Patch Name: PHSS_19390 Patch Description: s700_800 10.26 mwm(1X) cumulative patch Creation Date: 99/08/31 Post Date: 99/10/14 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.26 s800: 10.26 Products: N/A Filesets: BLS.BLS-CORE Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Release Critical: No (superseded patches were critical) PHSS_18259: HANG Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.X/PHSS_19390 Symptoms: PHSS_19390: User session terminated after a number of unsuccessful password attempts. No audit records were produced on an unsuccessful password attempt. PHSS_18259: Screen lock hangs console. PHSS_17881: Each time invoke_mwm_scrlk(3) is invoked, another level of screen lock occurs. Defect Description: PHSS_19390: The screenlock behavior was in line with the original design. The lack of audit on failure was an oversight. PHSS_18259: The screen lock will not respond to keyboard when running isso role program with two layers of pull down menus displayed on the screen. It hangs the console when screen lock is activitated from inactive timeout. The host needs to be rebooted. Resolution: Added XOverrideGrabPointer and XOverrideGrabKeyboard library calls in the screen lock source so that screen lock has exclusive access to keyboard and mouse. PHSS_17881: invoke_mwm_scrlk(3) always forces the screen lock request to the mwm window manager. There is no ways to check the current status of screen lock. Resolution: Create a lock file when the screen lock is activatived. When the screen lock is released, the lock file will be removed.
