	Resolution:
	    Disk Balancing, a special type of Manual Balancing, is
	    introduced for setups with SAP running on EMC disks.
	    Check the file /opt/omni/sbin/utilns/balance_disk.pl
	    on the SAP client (after installing the patch and
	    redistributing the SAP integration package) for
	    detailed instructions on configuring and using the
	    Disk Balancing functionality.

Installation Instructions:

	before installing this patch.

	1. Back up your system before installing a patch.

	2. Login as root.

	3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory.

	4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:

		cd /tmp
		sh PHSS_18699

	5a. For a standalone system, run swinstall to install the
	    patch:

		swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true \
			-s /tmp/PHSS_18699.depot

	By default swinstall will archive the original software in
	/var/adm/sw/patch/PHSS_18699.  If you do not wish to retain a
	copy of the original software, you can create an empty file
	named /var/adm/sw/patch/PATCH_NOSAVE.

	WARNING: If this file exists when a patch is installed, the
	         patch cannot be deinstalled.  Please be careful
		 when using this feature.

	It is recommended that you move the PHSS_18699.text file to
	/var/adm/sw/patch for future reference.

	To put this patch on a magnetic tape and install from the
	tape drive, use the command:

		dd if=/tmp/PHSS_18699.depot of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k

Special Installation Instructions:
	PHSS_18699:
	NOTE!
	Patch has to be installed on the Installation Server host.

	The SAP packets must be redistributed to the SAP
	client system(s) afterwards to get the fixes into effect.
	For distribution of the SAP client, refer to the OmnibackII
	Installation Guide.

	NOTE!
	This patch introduces the Disk Balancing as a new
	special type of a Manual Load Balancing. See the file
	/opt/omni/sbin/utilns/balance_disk.pl on the SAP client
	system for detailed instructions on configuring and using
	this functionality.




	With this patch the following versions of SAP are
	supported:

	   - 4.0B (64-bit)
	   - 4.5B (32-bit and 64-bit)
	   - 4.0B (32-bit) with EMC TimeFinder mode

	Known problem:
	1. Full restore/recovery and automatic recovery from the
	   SAPDBA 4.5B 64bit interface fails with OmniBackII 3.00
	   integration.

	Solution:
	   In order to solve the restore problem please
	   contact SAP Support or install the latest SAPDBA
	   patch, which will be available from SAP in the
	   beginning of November 1999.
