Patch Name: PHSS_16092 Patch Description: s700_800 10.24 IE 4.0 performance fix on VirtualVault Creation Date: 98/08/03 Post Date: 98/08/20 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.24 s800: 10.24 Products: VirtualVault Transaction Server A.02.00 International Release VirtualVault Transaction Server A.02.00 US/Canada Release VirtualVault/Safe A.03.00 US/Canada Release VirtualVault/Safe A.03.00 International Release Filesets: VaultTS.INES-COMMON Automatic Reboot?: Yes Status: Special Release Critical: No Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.X/PHSS_16092 Symptoms: PHSS_16092: End users with Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0 browsers who connect to a VirtualVault machine experience extreme delays in receiving data back. These delays make the connection with IE unusable. No errors are reported back to the browsers, or at least none have been reported by the end users. Also, no errors are located at the "vault end" in any of the log files, at least, so far as the customer has been able to determine. Given enough time, data is received back at the end user's browser, usually two minutes or more after the last browser input thus rendering the whole communication unusable. Defect Description: PHSS_16092: This problem is caused by "ill-behaved" applications. For example, while running an application integration through the IE browser, the original CGI that is called issues a redirect and the browser has to call that cgi instead. This causes IE to "hang".
