Patch Name: PHSS_15828 Patch Description: s700_800 10.X OpenMail B.05.10 Outlook point patch Creation Date: 98/07/08 Post Date: 98/07/16 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.01 10.10 10.20 10.30 s800: 10.01 10.10 10.20 10.30 Products: OpenMail B.05.10 Filesets: OpenMail.OM-CORE,A.B8.03 OpenMail.OM-LC,A.B7.00 OpenMail.OM-RC,A.B7.00 Automatic Reboot?: No Status: Special Superseded Critical: No Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.X/PHSS_15828 Symptoms: PHSS_15828: D500375907: OpenMail/Outlook - access to private folder permissions page results in a lost connection to the Openmail server (UAL network error). D500364174: OpenMail/Outlook - if Background Search Service is not running the Outlook Reminder mechanism fails and leaves an invalid Direct Reference in place that prevents any further reminders being generated. D500355586: OpenMail/Outlook - in an X.400 environment access other people's Calendar details will not work for users whose directory name contains CAP[O] attributes. D500376707: OpenMail/Outlook - looking up Free/Busy data does not work for users who have TTX (non-ascii) fields in their name/address. Defect Description: PHSS_15828: D500375907: Outlook usage of BB/folder ACLs affected by some non-Outlook related changes to PP5. D500364174: At start up time a permanent search is initiated that periodically checks for reminders. If this search cannot be started Outlook fails and does not tidy up correctly leaving the reminder set-up corrupt. This fix prevents sign-on if the Search Service is not running. D500355586: The directory entry name is used to perform the signon and if CAP[O] attributes are present then the signon fails as this name does not match the entry in the UserList. (The CAP[O] attributes need to be stripped off for the names to match.) D500376707: The Free/Busy look-up code does not convert the user name/address from the client charset to the internal OpenMail charset before searching the FREEBUSY directory. Back up your system before installing a patch. 2. Login as root. 3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory. 4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch: cd /tmp sh PHSS_15828 5a. For a standalone system, run swinstall to install the patch: swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true \ -s /tmp/PHSS_15828.depot 5b. For a homogeneous NFS Diskless cluster run swcluster on the server to install the patch on the server and the clients: swcluster -i -b This will invoke swcluster in the interactive mode and force all clients to be shut down. WARNING: All cluster clients must be shut down prior to the patch installation. Installing the patch while the clients are booted is unsupported and can lead to serious problems. The swcluster command will invoke an swinstall session in which you must specify: alternate root path - default is /export/shared_root/OS_700 source depot path - /tmp/PHSS_15828.depot To complete the installation, select the patch by choosing "Actions -> Match What Target Has" and then "Actions -> Install" from the Menubar. 5c. For a heterogeneous NFS Diskless cluster: - run swinstall on the server as in step 5a to install the patch on the cluster server. - run swcluster on the server as in step 5b to install the patch on the cluster clients. By default swinstall will archive the original software in /var/adm/sw/patch/PHSS_15828. If you do not wish to retain a copy of the original software, you can create an empty file named /var/adm/sw/patch/PATCH_NOSAVE. Warning: If this file exists when a patch is installed, the patch cannot be deinstalled. Please be careful when using this feature. It is recommended that you move the PHSS_15828.text file to /var/adm/sw/patch for future reference. To put this patch on a magnetic tape and install from the tape drive, use the command: dd if=/tmp/PHSS_15828.depot of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k Special Installation Instructions: None
