Patch Name: PHSS_14616 Patch Description: s700_800 10.20 OEMF 3.0 patch Creation Date: 97/04/21 Post Date: 98/04/08 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.20 s800: 10.20 Products: HP OEMF Server 3.0 HP OEMF Workstation 3.0 Filesets: OEMFFMPSSvr.server OEMFFMPWrkSt.workstation Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Superseded Critical: Yes PHSS_14616: OTHER Reverse locate by selecting more than 12 objects. Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.X/PHSS_14616 Symptoms: PHSS_14616: 1. Reverse locate by selecting more than 12 objects causes the process ovfmpmap to dump core. 2. The bulk operations by ML causing early snapshot. 3. When duplicate symbols are created, ovfmpmap dumps core. 4. OSM is able to grab the snapshot semaphore even though maploader is operational. 5. Address the problem of NSM not starting up after the maploader has been used to create objects. Defect Description: PHSS_14616: 1. The reverse locate problem of fmpmap dumping core when more than 12 objects are selected for the reverse location operation. 2. Run the maploader to delete 50 objects or manually delete 50 objects when there are around 90 messages in the message file (Configure file limit to 100). OSM will get the delete CB and will start writing the delete messages. When it reaches the limit,it will checkpoint without writing all the delete messages. The delete messages will be written to the next message file. This can lead to inconsistencies in the ovwdb. 3. The process ovfmpmap dumps core when a duplicate symbol is created. 4. OSM is able to grab the snapshot semaphore even though maploader is operational causing the semaphore to be corrupted. 5. NSM not starting up after the maploader has been used to create objects.
