PHSS_12990 contained a bug in the checkinstall script that resulted in a failure trying to install the patch. PHSS_12990: - Server process 'opcdcem' aborts after server start. - ITO process 'opcdistm' aborts while installing NT agent software. - Server processes have memory leaks. - PHSS_10188 disables color update in Node Groups of opc_adm operator. - ITO shutdown does not proceed if some GUI processes are still running. - Meaningless error-message when starting browser for unmanaged external node. - Server startup causes a lot of 'opcctla not running' messages. - ITO auditing writes multiple identical messages for opc_adm. - OPC_MSGIDS_ACT doesn't work for view message browsers. Defect Description: PHSS_13426: - See the list of the symptoms. PHSS_12990: - Server process 'opcdcem' aborts after server start, in case it can't connect to the 'opcdistm' process in time. This can happen in some environments if the 'opcdistm' is busy for a long time doing name resolution. As a fix you can configure the retry mechanism of 'opcdcem' with opcsvinfo variables. - ITO process 'opcdistm' aborts while installing NT agent software. The code was fixed. - Server processes have memory leaks. Several memory leaks have been fixed for the ITO user interface, the 'opcctlm' process and the ITO server libraries. - PHSS_10188 disables color update in Node Groups of opc_adm operator. The code of the administrator user interface has been changed now. - ITO shutdown does not proceed if some GUI processes are still running. The patch contains a 'opcshutprocs' script which has to added to the OpenView shutdown script manually. See below for details. - Server startup causes a lot of 'opcctla not running' messages. This was caused on the server due to problems contacting the 'opcdcem' process. The code was changed so that if contacting the 'opcdcem' process fails for five minutes, the more appropriate message 'can't contact opcdcem - no DCE communication possible' will be generated. - ITO auditing writes multiple identical messages for opc_adm. The two binaries of the administrator user interface both generated audit messages. This is fixed. - OPC_MSGIDS_ACT doesn't work for view message browsers. This is fixed in the browser code.
