Patch Name: PHCO_21509 Patch Description: s700_800 10.26 umount_vxfs(1M) cumulative patch Creation Date: 00/04/10 Post Date: 00/04/12 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.26 s800: 10.26 Products: N/A Filesets: OS-Core.UX-CORE Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Release Critical: No Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.X/PHCO_21509 Symptoms: PHCO_21509: Port of PHCO_10295. (PHCO_10295) If a snapshot vxfs file system overflows, it is disabled. Umount will not allow the unmounting of this file system, returning with an I/O Error. Defect Description: PHCO_21509: Port of PHCO_10295. (PHCO_10295) The problem is caused by a bug in /sbin/fs/hfs/umount, which is linked to via the vxfs umount. If a file system is mounted on as a snapshot of another file system, and that other file system fills up, it is possible for the snapshot file system to overflow. When trying to umount the file system, the user will get an I/O Error, and be unable to unmount the file system except via a reboot.
