Due to a memory corruption, sccs val used to issue an error message if reused on the same input file. PHCO_17443: Repackaged 10.01 patch PHCO_16250 for 10.16 (PHCO_16250) Patch PHCO_15172 for sccs is not Y2K safe. Archive files created before the year 2000 are not usable in year 2000 using sccs val. After setting the system clock to a date beyond 1999, if val is used on a file created before year 2000 then, sccs val displays the following error message - "s.abc: corrupted SCCS file delta creation date out of sequence or in the future (val2) " (PHCO_15191) Year displayed in two digits (PHCO_14495) Fix for DSDe441276 was not complete and prs command was failing for options other than "-d". (PHCO_13767) sccs and prs fails for year 1999. prs fails for year 98 when the following command is executed. prs -d ':Dy:' s.xxx . (PHCO_6816) SCCS file gets corrupted when clock differs on two NFS mounted systems Resolution: Ported patch PHCO_16250 to 10.16 PHCO_15455: sccs(1) Year 2000 and cumulative patch PHCO_11823: the prs call within sccs calls does not handle dates after 1999. Defect Description: PHCO_18068: Repackaged 10.01 patch PHCO_17073 for 10.16 (PHCO_17073) sccs val is not completely Y2K safe. Due to a memory corruption sccs val used to issue an error message if reused on the same input file. After setting the system clock to a date beyond 1999, if val is used on a file created before year 2000 then, sccs val executes correctly the first time, but if sccs val is used a second time with the same input file for example "s.abc" then it displays the following error message - "s.abc: corrupted SCCS file delta creation date out of sequence or in the future (val2) " Resolution: This was due to a memory corruption problem. This has been rectified by introducing a "memset()" call. After the patch has been applied sccs val should not issue any error messages. Back up your system before installing a patch. 2. Login as root. 3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory. 4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch: cd /tmp sh PHCO_18068 5a. For a standalone system, run swinstall to install the patch: swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true \ -s /tmp/PHCO_18068.depot 5b. For a homogeneous NFS Diskless cluster run swcluster on the server to install the patch on the server and the clients: swcluster -i -b This will invoke swcluster in the interactive mode and force all clients to be shut down. WARNING: All cluster clients must be shut down prior to the patch installation. Installing the patch while the clients are booted is unsupported and can lead to serious problems. The swcluster command will invoke an swinstall session in which you must specify: alternate root path - default is /export/shared_root/OS_700 source depot path - /tmp/PHCO_18068.depot To complete the installation, select the patch by choosing "Actions -> Match What Target Has" and then "Actions -> Install" from the Menubar. 5c. For a heterogeneous NFS Diskless cluster: - run swinstall on the server as in step 5a to install the patch on the cluster server. - run swcluster on the server as in step 5b to install the patch on the cluster clients. By default swinstall will archive the original software in /var/adm/sw/patch/PHCO_18068. If you do not wish to retain a copy of the original software, you can create an empty file named /var/adm/sw/patch/PATCH_NOSAVE. Warning: If this file exists when a patch is installed, the patch cannot be deinstalled. Please be careful when using this feature. It is recommended that you move the PHCO_18068.text file to /var/adm/sw/patch for future reference. To put this patch on a magnetic tape and install from the tape drive, use the command: dd if=/tmp/PHCO_18068.depot of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k Special Installation Instructions: None
