Patch Name: PHCO_14221 Patch Description: s700_800 10.16 dosmkdir(1) cumulative patch Creation Date: 98/02/17 Post Date: 98/02/20 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.16 s800: 10.16 Products: N/A Filesets: MSDOS-Utils.DOS-UTILS Automatic Reboot?: No Status: General Release Critical: No Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/10.X/PHCO_14221 Symptoms: PHCO_14221: dosmkdir with patch PHCO_12981 installed, hangs when the directory to be created already exists. PHCO_12981: The dosmkdir command reports device already in use. Defect Description: PHCO_14221: The fix for the previous patch closed the parent directory before trying to open the new directory, but when the open of the new directory fails, because the directory already exists, the code was trying to close the already closed parent directory. PHCO_12981: First the parent directory is opened. This sets a device lock. Then the new directory is requested to be created. This attempts to set the same device lock, but fails because it is already set.
