PHCO_11345: When a (undocumented) kernel parameter hpux_aes_override is set to 1 on a system, tlinstall creates some "strange" directories (with some unprintable characters as part of the directory names). This usually happens after using swinstall to install any fileset. tlinstall command will run at the end of a swinstall (Unless Upgrade.UPG-TLINK has been removed fromthe system.) When the hpux_aes_overrride is set to 1, such "strange" directories are created. Defect Description: PHCO_11647: Same as PHCO_11345. PHCO_11345: In the application notes of 10.10 and 10.20, the manpages warn about using readlink(2): "portable applications should not assume that the returned contents of the symbolic link are null terminated." tlinstall assumed all the pathnames returned by readlink(2) were null terminated. As a result, some strange directories pathnames were created after running tlinstall. For a homogeneous NFS Diskless cluster run swcluster on the server to install the patch on the server and the clients: swcluster -i -b This will invoke swcluster in the interactive mode and force all clients to be shut down. WARNING: All cluster clients must be shut down prior to the patch installation. Installing the patch while the clients are booted is unsupported and can lead to serious problems. The swcluster command will invoke an swinstall session in which you must specify: alternate root path - default is /export/shared_root/OS_700 source depot path - /tmp/PHCO_11647.depot To complete the installation, select the patch by choosing "Actions -> Match What Target Has" and then "Actions -> Install" from the Menubar. 5c. By default swinstall will archive the original software in /var/adm/sw/patch/PHCO_11647.
