Patch Name: PHKL_5291 Patch Description: s700 10.00 Chassis Displays interferes with PCX_L systems Creation Date: 95/03/02 Post Date: 95/03/17 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.00 Products: N/A Filesets: OS-Core.CORE-KRN Automatic Reboot?: Yes Status: General Release Critical: No Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700/10.X/PHKL_5291 Symptoms: PHKL_5291: During normal O/S execution, Chassis displays are interfering with RS232 operations. This behavior is not present in 9.03 or 9.05, and interfers with manufacturing's testing of the Gecko Box. Since Geckos are also being shipped with Chassis Display output enable, this problem will interfere with any customer device attached to this port. It is also believed that other PCX-L based workstations could be affected by this problem. Defect Description: PHKL_5291: As a result of the KRUFT merge, the code that controls chassis display allows put chassis for both 700 and 800. It can be reproduced by attaching a RS_232 monitor to the RS_232 port, and looking for chassis display output during a fully booted kernel.
