Patch Name: PHKL_19721 Patch Description: s700 10.20 ccio2 IOpdir cumulative patch (ACE 199912) Creation Date: 99/09/16 Post Date: 99/12/07 Hardware Platforms - OS Releases: s700: 10.20 Products: N/A Filesets: OS-Core.CORE-KRN OS-Core.KERN-RUN Automatic Reboot?: Yes Status: General Release Critical: Yes PHKL_19721: HANG Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700/10.X/PHKL_19721 Symptoms: PHKL_19721: The size of the IOpdir used by the ccio2 IO adapter is too small for some system configurations. This can cause the system to hang if a heavy I/O load is placed on the system. PHKL_17646: This patch enables new functionality that is part of the 10.20 ACE (Additional Core Enhancements) Workstation bundle. It adds new I/O drivers to support the B1000, C3000, and J5000 systems. In particular this patch enables the ccio2 Core I/O adapter and the lba PCI bus bridge. Defect Description: PHKL_19721: The IOpdir used by ccio2 is set to a fixed size of 8192 entries. On systems with many active I/O interfaces, this number may be too small, causing the system to hang. Resolution: The size of the ccio2 IOpdir is now sized according to how much physical memory is installed in the system. The IOpdir size will now be set to 1/16th of physical memory, with a minimum value of 8192 entries. PHKL_17646: New functionality to support the B1000, C3000, and J5000 systems on HP-UX 10.20. The Core IO on these systems and the system will fail to boot unless this patch is present. Resolution: Add support for the Core IO on B1000, C3000, and J5000 SR: 4701398263 8606103215 Patch Files: /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(asm_utl.o) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(astro_ccio.o) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_ccio.o) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_cdio.o) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_lvl1.o) /usr/conf/lib/libpci.a(elroy_cdio.o) /usr/conf/master.d/ccio2 /usr/conf/master.d/rope2pci what(1) Output: /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(asm_utl.o): asm_utl.s $Date: 99/03/05 07:31:05 $ $Revision: 1.1 17.98.11 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(astro_ccio.o): astro_ccio.c $Date: 99/09/07 12:55:38 $ $Re vision: 1.2.98.3 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_19721) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_ccio.o): pa_ccio.c $Date: 99/03/04 09:52:16 $ $Revision: 1.6. 98.12 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_cdio.o): pa_cdio.c $Date: 99/03/04 09:49:18 $ $Revision: 1.8. 98.13 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_lvl1.o): pa_lvl1.c $Date: 99/03/04 09:52:18 $ $Revision: 1.5. 98.13 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) /usr/conf/lib/libpci.a(elroy_cdio.o): elroy_cdio.c $Date: 99/03/04 09:50:45 $ $Re vision: 1.1.1.38 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) /usr/conf/master.d/ccio2: ccio2 $Date: 99/03/04 10:21:24 $ $Revision: 1.1.1.2 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) ccio2 $Date: 99/03/04 10:21:24 $ $Revision: 1.1.1.2 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) /usr/conf/master.d/rope2pci: rope2pci $Date: 99/03/04 10:21:26 $ $Revision: 1.1. 1.3 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) rope2pci $Date: 99/03/04 10:21:26 $ $Revision: 1.1. 1.3 $ PATCH_10.20 (PHKL_17646) cksum(1) Output: 3289406277 18860 /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(asm_utl.o) 1116322314 18328 /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(astro_ccio.o) 3688692300 14120 /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_ccio.o) 2346477062 14456 /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_cdio.o) 3561359625 27856 /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(pa_lvl1.o) 1598809768 14156 /usr/conf/lib/libpci.a(elroy_cdio.o) 792146734 5510 /usr/conf/master.d/ccio2 2870541685 5522 /usr/conf/master.d/rope2pci Patch Conflicts: None Patch Dependencies: s700: 10.20: PHKL_16750 Hardware Dependencies: None Other Dependencies: None Supersedes: PHKL_17646 Equivalent Patches: None Patch Package Size: 190 KBytes Installation Instructions: Please review all instructions and the Hewlett-Packard SupportLine User Guide or your Hewlett-Packard support terms and conditions for precautions, scope of license, restrictions, and, limitation of liability and warranties, before installing this patch. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1.
