Fractal Artificial Topographic Landscapes

The Fractal Rabbit Topographic Wing of the Savage Rabbit Art Gallery proudly presents these creations by Savage Rabbit Artist and SCO employee Ronald Joe Record. These fantastic creations of Mr. Record's graphically represent artificial topographic landscapes constructed with techniques borrowed from "fractal mathematics". A random surface was transformed into the frequency domain, scaled to fit a specified fractal dimension, and then inverse transformed back into the spatial domain. The resulting surface appears to be a "natural" topographic map of varying smoothness.

The color of a pixel represents its "height".
