This applies to this system, if it acts as an ARCserveIT client, as well as to remote systems. If your system is running any libraries or commands that are contained in this SLS, then these programs will continue to run with the old versions of these libraries or commands until the the system is rebooted. Note that when all necessary patches have been installed, it is good practice to reboot the system at the earliest opportunity. This will ensure that no programs continue to run with the old libraries or commands. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf7720a.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Stop ARCserveIT with the following command: # /usr/sbin/astop 3. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7720a.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7720a # rm /tmp/ptf7720a Alternatively, this SLS package may be installed in quiet mode, that is, without displaying the release notes and asking for confirmation. To do this, use these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7720a.Z # pkgadd -qd /tmp/ptf7720a all # rm /tmp/ptf7720a 4. Reinitialize the ARCserveIT database with the following command: # /opt/ARCserveIT/bin/dbase_setup Answer "y" to the 2 questions you are asked: Database already exists! Do you want to re-initialize it? (default: n) [y,n,?,q] y You've chosen to re-initialize the database. This will destroy all the data in the database. Are you sure? (default: n) [y,n,?,q] y NOTE: This will remove all of the information from the ARCserveIT database. If there is a need to restore file(s) from any previous backups, you will need to either "scan" the relevant backup tape with the ARCserveIT Scan Manager or "merge" the backup tape into the database with the ARCserveIT Merge Manager. See the SCOhelp ARCserveIT document for information on using these managers. 5. Restart ARCserveIT with the following command: # /usr/sbin/astart 6. There is no need to reboot the system after installing this package. Removal Instructions -------------------- 1. As root, remove the package using these commands: $ su Password: # pkgrm ptf7720 2.
