Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7459d, the UnixWare Networking Supplement,
addresses the following problems

        ptf7459a addresses the following issues:

        1.  select(3C) times out in client when client and server apps run 
            on different systems.

        2.  Order of locking/unlocking t_locktimer and inp_lock was not correct
            at some some places and hierarchy value of t_locktimer was 
            incorrectly lowered in previous work.

        3.  getmany displays incorrect netmasks.

        4.  in.snmpd core dumps.

        5.  If two arp -d's are called in quick succession, one of the entries 
            may not be deleted.

        6.  Using the same address on Ethernet and PPP causes the loopback 
            route to the Ethernet address disappear after the PPP connection
            is detached.

        7.  If you connect() to an AF_UNIX/SOCK_DGRAM (connectionless socket), 
            the other end erroneously receives a HUP condition when the 
            "connector" closes the socket.

            IP_MULTICAST_LOOP option to 0.

Software Notes and Recommendations
----------------------------------

ptf7459d should only be installed on:

UnixWare 7.1.0

The ptf requires ptf7446 to be installed on the system first.

The system MUST be rebooted after applying ptf7446 and before
applying ptf7459.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------

1. Download the ptf7459d.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine.

2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system
   using these commands:

          $ su
          Password: <type your root password>
          # uncompress /tmp/ptf7459d.Z
          # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7459d
          # rm /tmp/ptf7459d

Alternatively, this SLS package may be installed in quiet mode, that is, 
without displaying the release notes and asking for confirmation.  
To do this, use these commands:

          $ su
          Password: <type your root password>
          # uncompress /tmp/ptf7459d.Z
          # pkgadd -qd /tmp/ptf7459d all
          # rm /tmp/ptf7459d
 
3. Reboot the system after installing this package.


Removal Instructions
--------------------

1. As root, remove the package using these commands:

          $ su
          Password: <type your root password>
          # pkgrm ptf7459

2. Reboot the system after removing this package.
