Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF7046C, the Hotplug Supplement for SCO UnixWare 7.0.1, provides hotplug-related fixes for the following problems: 1. After a hotplug operation is performed, rtpm and sar no longer work. 2. Preferences and refresh intervals are not being saved. 3. More than one instance of the Hotplug Manager could be run simultaneously, which could lead to inconsistent information being displayed. 4. Adapters other than HBAs and NICs could be powered off through the Hotplug Manager. 5. The string "unidentified" in the message catalog is confusing. 6. Help files in the Hotplug Manager are not accessible. 7. A memory leak was discovered. 8. A condition that could cause a core dump was discovered. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS PTF7046C should only be installed on: UnixWare 7.0.1 The release notes displayed prior to installation can be found in: /var/sadm/pkg/ptf7046/install/ptf7046.txt Hardware Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS PTF7046C is targeted for the i386, i486 and Pentium CPUs. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf7046c.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the SLS package to your system using these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7046c.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7046c # rm /tmp/ptf7046c 3. There is no need to reboot the system after installing this SLS package. Removal Instructions -------------------- 1. As root, remove the SLS package using these commands: $ su Password: # pkgrm ptf7046 2. There is no need to reboot the system after removing this SLS package.
