Dear SCO Customer,

Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF7022A, the UnixWare 7 cm_intr_attach
Supplement, resolves the problem where cm_intr_attach of IRQ13 fails
on non-EISA systems. 

The psm_cfgtables.c file contains a function called cfgtable_eisa that
parses the mps table to determine if IRQ13 is a routed interrupt on a
particular system. The problem occurs because it checks for bus type 
EISA only, so on a system with only ISA and PCI slots it never returns 
TRUE. The end result is that a cm_intr_attach always fails on non-EISA 
systems.

SLS PTF7022A contains a new /etc/conf/pack.d/psm_cfgtables/Driver_mp.o
driver.  The modified function called cfgtable_eisa that parses the mps 
table to determine if IRQ13 is a routed interrupt on a particular system 
now checks for ISA, PCI and EISA.


Software Notes and Recommendations
----------------------------------

SLS PTF7022A should only be installed on: 

    UnixWare 7.0.0 with the UnixWare 7 Release Supplement (uw7rs) applied

Running the command:

    uname -sv

will return "UnixWare 7" if this release is installed.

Running the command:

    pkginfo | grep uw7rs

will return "patch uw7rs uw7rs - SCO UnixWare 7 Release Supplement"
if the Release Supplement is installed.


Installation Instructions
-------------------------

1. Download the ptf7022a.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine.

2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system
   using these commands:

        $ su
        Password: <type your root password>
        # uncompress /tmp/ptf7022a.Z
        # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7022a
        # rm /tmp/ptf7022a

3. Shut down and reboot the system after installing PTF7022A.

These instruction notes on what is included in this PTF can be 
found on the FTP server or, after its installation, in:

    /var/sadm/pkg/ptf7022a/install/ptf7022a.txt

Removal Instructions
---------------------

1. As root, remove the package using this command:

    pkgrm ptf7022a

2. Reboot the system after removing this package.
