Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF7014A, the DDI8 CD-ROM Supplement, resolves problems with CD-ROM certification on systems using DDI8 HBA drivers. Please read this document completely before attempting to install the new software. PTF7014A contains modifications to the Base System (base) package of UnixWare 7. If you are preparing to install this package, discontinue the installation of PTF7014A, install the base package first, and then install PTF7014A. Please note that this package is affected by this supplement. If you later install the base package on your system, you must reinstall this SLS to get the fixes for that package. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS PTF7014A should only be installed on the following release: UnixWare 7 with UnixWare 7 Release Supplement (uw7rs) applied. To find out what release your system is running, use the command: # uname -sv The command will return "UnixWare 7" if this release is installed. To find if the SCO UnixWare 7 Release Supplement is installed, run the command: # pkginfo | grep uw7rs If the Release Supplement is installed this command will return "patch uw7rs uw7rs - SCO UnixWare 7 Release Supplement". Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptoms"). Such testing consists of re-creating the problem conditions (typically in an SCO test laboratory) and verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done. Hardware Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- This package is intended for i486, Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium II, and compatible CPUs. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf7014a.Z and ptf7014a.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2.
