ARCserveIT v6.6 from Computer Associates
UnixWare 7.1 Client Agent Update

This directory contains updated Client Agents for ARCserveIT v6.6 for
UnixWare 7.1.  These updated Client Agents allow ARCserveIT to access 
remote backup sessions created by ARCserve/Open 2.2. 

The ARCserveIT 6.6.1g agents shipped with UnixWare 7.1.0 are not 
able to access remote backup sessions created by ARCserve/Open 2.2.  
Installing these updated agents will allow your ARCserveIT system to
read ARCserve/Open 2.2 remote backup sessions.    
 

This directory includes:

  VOL.000.000	
	ARCserveIT SCO UNIX Client Agent for OpenServer 5 v6.6.1h 
            (for SCO OpenServer 5.0 and above platforms.)

  AS6WUAG.pkg	
	ARCserveIT SCO UNIX Client Agent for UnixWare 2.1.x and 
	UnixWare 7.x v6.6.1h
            (for both UnixWare 2 and UnixWare 7 platforms.)


To update your agents you must:

1. Remove the previous Client Agents

  For SCO OpenServer:

    1.  As root, start the Software Manager by double-clicking on 
	the Software Manager icon in the System Administration window
	on the Desktop or from the command line, type: 

	  scoadmin software manager 

    2.  Select the ARCserveIT SCO UNIX OpenServer Client Agent. 

    3.  From the Software Menu, select ``Remove Software''.

    4.  Click OK to confirm your choice.


  For UnixWare 2 or UnixWare 7,

    1.  Log in as root
	
    2.  From the command line, type:

	  pkgrm AS6WUAG

	and follow the removal instructions.  



2. Install the updated Client Agents 

  To install the updated SCO UNIX Client Agent for SCO OpenServer:

    1.  Log in as root.

    2.  Download the updated SCO UNIX Client Agent for OpenServer to an 
        available directory.
	
    3.  Move the file to a preferred installation directory:
	
	 mv VOL.000.000 /tmp1

    4.  Start the Software Manager in any one of the following ways:

        +  Double-click on the Software Manager icon in the System
           Administration window on the desktop.

        +  Start the SCOadmin launcher by entering scoadmin on the 
           command line, then select Software Manager.

        +  Enter scoadmin software manager on the command line.


    5.  Select Install New from the Software menu.

    6.  Select Media Images and enter the directory where the
	Client Agent is located:

	  /tmp1

    7.  Select the ARCserveIT v6.6 SCO UNIX Client Agent for OpenServer and 
        click Install.

    8.  After the Client Agent is installed, select Exit from the
        Host menu.


  To install the updated SCO UNIX Client Agent for UnixWare 2.1.x or UnixWare 7.x:

     1. Log in as root 

     2. Download the SCO UNIX Client Agent for UnixWare 2.1.x and 
        UnixWare 7.x to an available directory.

     3. Move the Client Agent package to the preferred installation directory:

  	  mv AS6WUAG /tmp1

     4. Use the pkgadd command to add the updated Client Agent:

	  pkgadd -d /tmp1/AS6WUAG

	Follow the installation instructions per your system 
	configuration.  


NOTE:  The UnixWare Client Agent does not prompt for a license as part 
of the install.  If you have not added a license at this point, you 
must license the Client Agent before you can use it.  Please see the
ARCserveIT Release and Installation Notes for instructions on licensing
ARCserveIT products.
