Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) OSS646C, the Execution Environment Supplement, updates the UNIX Runtime System (RTS) and Development System on SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.6. This version of the supplement contains several fixes to the shared C library (libc.so.1), as well as header file fixes and new C and C++ startup modules that improve gABI compliance. It also includes all of the new libraries (such as the shared math and curses libraries) that were introduced in Release 5.0.7. ELF programs that are developed on an SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7 system or on a system where OSS646C is installed require that pre-Release 5.0.7 systems where the binary will run also have OSS646C installed. Since this supplement patches portions of the SCO OpenServer Development System, that package must be installed prior to installing this supplement, if you want to use the Development System with this supplement. If you do decide to install the Development System after installing OSS646C, then you must re-apply OSS646C after the Development System has been installed in order to install the Development System portions of this supplement. This supplement can be installed on the following SCO OpenServer release: SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.6 with RS506A Note: The following libc calls will not function correctly without kernel modifications: - setproctitle() - getproctitle() Installation Instructions ------------------------- To install OSS646C follow these steps: 1.
