----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear SCO Customer, The OpenServer X.Org X Window System Version 11 Release 6.7 Supplement provides the runtime libraries, header files, and core fonts from X.Org X11R6.7 for OpenServer 5.0.6. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Software Notes and Recomendations 1. This supplement can be installed on the following SCO OpenServer releases: SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.6 with RS506A and OSS646C installed. NOTE: The same version of this software is included in the SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7 Maintenance Pack 3. You should install MP3 if you want to use this package on SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7. This stand-alone package is for OpenServer 5.0.6 only. Maintenance Pack 3 is available for download from http://www.sco.com/support/update/download/osr507list.html. 2. The programs in this supplement are provided here free of charge in accordance with the authors' licensing policies. 3. The source code for this package is freely available, although not as part of this supplement. If you wish to see the source code, please download the original package from the Internet. The source code for the package as it was compiled is available on the SCO ftp site at ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/507/opensrc/source. 4. If you have questions about this supplement, or the platform it is installed on, please contact your software supplier or support representative. X.Org Manual Pages The man pages for the X.Org routines will also be installed on the system, but are not included in the MANPATH environment variable. (This is done to avoid collision with the existing X11R5 man pages.) If you wish to access the X.Org man pages in preference to X11R5, insert /usr/X11R6/man into your MANPATH variable (or the system-wide setting in /etc/default/man) before the /usr/man entry, as in this example: MANPATH=scohelp:/usr/X11R6/man:/usr/man:/usr/gnu/man:/usr/local/man If you add the X11R6 path to /etc/default/man, you should also update the man page database by executing the following command as root: /usr/man/bin/makewhatis /usr/X11R6/man/* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- II.
