RealNetworks Basic Server Plus for UnixWare 7 systems

RealNetworks(TM) Basic Server Plus(TM) provides an easy and quick solution for streaming media and allows your Internet or intranet users to easily access multimedia content in real time.

System Requirements

Software: UnixWare® 7
RAM: 32MB (64 MB recommended)
Disk space: 12MB free disk space
Other: Web server with configurable MIME types

Installation Notes

Before beginning the installation, download and print the Release and Installation Notes for the RealNetworks products from www.sco.com/documentation/postscript/realnet/uw7. The PostScript files are provided in gzip (.gz) compressed format. Uncompress these files with gunzip from www.sco.com/documentation/postscript/bin/gunzip_uw7.tar.

Installation

Once you have downloaded the product tar file(s) from the Download page, perform the following steps as root:

  1. Move the file(s) to a preferred installation directory:
    mv C0*.tar /tmp1
  2. Change to the installation directory:
    cd /tmp1
  3. Using the tar command, extract the installation images:
    tar xvf C0*.tar
  4. Use pkgadd to install Basic Server Plus software and documentation:
    pkgadd -d `pwd`/rncommon.pkg
    pkgadd -d `pwd`/rnbasic.pkg
    pkgadd -d `pwd`/rnbasicD.pkg
