II. Installation Instructions

Take the following steps:

          1. Download the HBA driver floppy image (hba_lsi1030_311a.dd.Z)
	    and create the modules disk.

	    On a Linux/Unix system:

Download the hba_lsi1030_311a.dd.Z to the /tmp directory.
Uncompress and create the modules disk.

			# uncompress hba_lsi1030_311a.dd.Z
			# dd if=hba_lsi1030_311a.dd of=/dev/fd0

	    On a Windows/DOS system:

Download the hba_lsi1030_311a.dd.Z file to your Windows/DOS System.

rawrite can be found on your OpenLinux 3.1.1 installation
media. It should be run from the command line.

			/col/tools/rawrite/rawrite3

Enter the letter for the diskette drive (typically "A")
and the disk image file when prompted.

          2. Install OpenLinux 3.1.1 with the LSI 1030 modules disk by
          following the instructions below:

At the first OpenLinux Installation screen type the letter 'e'
at the Standard Install Mode selection. Use the down arrow to
highlight the kernel line and type another 'e'. Add "er=modules"
to the end of the kernel line and hit the key. Next
insert your lsi1030 modules disk into the floppy drive and type
the letter 'b'. Your OpenLinux installation will load the
modules disk and the lsi1030 adapter should now be detected.
Installation will procede as normal from this point.
