Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf4045a, the SCO UnixWare 2.1.3 proc Driver Supplement, addresses the following problem: - Under certain conditions, a memory leak of 128 byte kernel memory buffers was observed from sar(1M) data or rtpm(1M) memory information. Over time it is possible that a system may hang or panic when kernel virtual memory is exhausted. The leak was traced to the handling of credential structures within the proc driver where the lwp exit code was freeing its cred structure but discarding cached reference counts. A modified proc driver has been produced based upon changes implemented in SCO UnixWare 7. SLS ptf4045a is dependent on ptf4004a (the SCO UnixWare 2.1.3 lbolt Patch), which also replaces the proc driver. It is necessary to install ptf4004a before ptf4045a, and ptf4045a must be removed first if it is necessary to remove ptf4004a.
