Dear Caldera Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf4026g, the SCO UnixWare libc Shared Libraries Patch, addresses the following problems: SLS ptf4026a addressed these issues: 1. Upon doing an asynchronous connect(3N), select(3C) would always return saying the file descriptor representing the socket was writeable, whether or not connection was established. SLS ptf4026 now only allows for a 'writeable' return when a connection has been established. Note: For a complete solution to the reported issue, it is required that SLS ptf4027, the SCO UnixWare Streams Driver, also be installed. SLS ptf4026b addressed these issues: 2. A modification was made to take UW2compat 7.1.0 or 7.1.1 into consideration. If UW2compat 7.1.1 is installed, then ptf4026 should not and will not install. 3. Package installation scripts were modified to properly deal with MAC security levels. SLS ptf4026c addressed this issue: 4. Modifications to select(3C) to only return an exception if one is requested. This problem may manifest itself by select(3C) returning "bad file number" after the descriptor is closed. SLS ptf4026d addressed this issue: 5. Rare stalls in threaded programs have been eliminated. SLS ptf4026e addressed this issue: 6. The pt.c functions have been enhanced to support up to 99999 ptys. Previously, the Unix98 pty support routines could not allow more than 999 ptys to be allocated by a user process. SLS ptf4026f and ptf4026g additionally address this issue: 7. Fixes an installation problem when UW2compat package is already installed SLS ptf4026g contains: /usr/lib/libc.so.1.UW711 /usr/lib/libc.so.1.UW710 /usr/lib/libc.so.1.UW2 /udk/usr/ccs/lib/libc.a.UW711 /udk/usr/ccs/lib/libc.a.UW710 /usr/ccs/lib/libc.a.UW2 Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS ptf4026g should only be installed on: SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.3 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.3 SLS ptf4026g supersedes, and includes all fixes from, previous versions of SLS ptf4026.
