Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3152C, the Multiple I/O APICs Supplement, corrects a problem with any PCI controller card in a multi-processor system with multiple I/O APICs. The PCI network card that adds the second I/O APIC PCI bus no longer worked after upgrading from SCO UnixWare 2.1.0 to UnixWare 2.1.1 or 2.1.2. This occurred because the pcmp Driver.o on SCO UnixWare 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 is incompatible with multi-processor systems with multiple I/O APICs. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS PTF3152C should only be installed on SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.1 or 2.1.2 with the following hardware configuration: - Motherboard that has multiple I/O APICs - Multi-processor system Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf3152c.Z and ptf3152c.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/ptf3152c.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf3152c 3. Reboot the system after installing this SLS. Removal Instructions --------------------- 1. As root, remove the package. $su # pkgrm ptf3152c 2. Reboot the system after removing this SLS.
