Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3150, the New kma Driver for Statistics Reporting Supplement, installs an updated kma driver that corrects the following problems: 1. Incorrect statistics are reported, resulting in sar and rtpm reporting erroneous numbers for kernel memory usage. 2. kma pools are only shrunk every 30 seconds by default. Under heavy load, this can cause the kma buffers to be depleted, resulting in poor system performance. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- PTF3150 should only be installed on these releases: SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.1, 2.1.2 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.1, 2.1.2 Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf3150.Z and ptf3150.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/ptf3150.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf3150 3. Reboot the system after installing this SLS. Removal Instructions --------------------- 1. As root, remove the package using these commands: $ su # pkgrm ptf3150 2. Reboot the system after removing this SLS.
