Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3098, the SDI Target Driver Supplement, allows the HBA drivers to recognize targets that are configured on LUNs other than 0. Previously, SCSI targets configured on different LUNs were not scanned correctly. If the user had targets configured as LUN 3 and 4, for instance, they were not detected. This situation occurred with some RAID subsystems where the logical disk volumes could be configured at any LUN. SCSI HBA drivers used for RAID targets need to be able to scan non-sequential LUNs. With SLS PTF3098 installed, LUN search does not stop if LUN 0 is not configured. The scanning of the bus (sdi_add_edt) was modified to prevent it from breaking from the search loop if LUN 0 is not currently present, but is capable of supporting a device which is common in RAID devices. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- PTF3098 should only be installed on these releases: SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.0 SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.1 SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.2 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.0 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.1 SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.2 Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1.
