Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3028B improves the performance of systems with significant database loads or loads from a large user community. This SLS also provides a number of corrections that improve the performance of SCO UnixWare 2.1.0 installations. These include: 1. A new tunable parameter, PAGEOUTRATE, was created to modify the behavior of the system pageout daemon; 2. Improvements in random access file writes under heavy memory load; 3. A new tunable parameter, PRIV_L1_SIZE, was created to allow large processes to acquire a private level 1 page table; 4. The async I/O driver now works with any underlying device driver; 5. Allocation of PSE (4Mb pagesize) memory has been corrected; 6. The "ps" command was fixed to properly report on processes using PSE memory; 7. Additional performance improvements for system calls, disk I/O, the "fur" command, and many other kernel modules and drivers; 8. The routine mprotect() has been fixed; 9. The routine segdz_amp_dup() has been fixed; 10. A number of problems in the kernel's virtual memory subsystem were corrected; 11. A retry problem in the sd01 disk driver, and a lock problem in the sdi driver were corrected.
