Dear SCO Customer, The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3015, the UnixWare Year 2000 Supplement, corrects the setting and interpreting of dates for the year 2000 and beyond. SLS PTF3015 shows correct display of two digit year for year 2000 and beyond (for example, 0x for 200x; wx for 20wx) by the following commands, utilities and functions: /usr/sbin/sar /usr/bin/uustat /usr/lib/saf/listen /usr/lib/saf/nlps_server /usr/lib/lp/lpNet /usr/sbin/prfpr /usr/ccs/bin/prs /usr/bin/touch /usr/sbin/whodo /usr/bin/at will run and schedule jobs for dates with 2000 and beyond. /usr/bin/date now operates in the following manner with regard to yy and ccyy entries: 32 bit mmddhhmmyy if 00 <= yy <= 37 2000 to 2037 if 38 <= yy <= 69 1970 if 70 <= yy <= 99 1970 to 1999 32 bit mmddhhmmccyy if 1970 <= ccyy <=2037 1970 to 2037 if 2038 <= ccyy 1970 limitation imposed by 'time_t being a signed long' Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- PTF3015 should only be installed on SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.0 and SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.0. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Become root and create a new directory by typing the following: $ su # mkdir /tmp/pkg # chmod 700 /tmp/pkg # cd /tmp/pkg 2. Download the ptf3015.Z and the ptf3015.txt files to the newly created /tmp/pkg directory on your machine. 3. Read the Release Notes contained in the ptf3015.txt file. 4. Uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: # uncompress /tmp/pkg/ptf3015.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/pkg/ptf3015 5. Reboot the system after installing this SLS. Removal Instructions --------------------- 1. Become root and remove the package by typing these commands: $ su # pkgrm ptf3015 2. Reboot the system after removing this SLS.
