TITLE: TF2223 - sysdump fix for MP systems running Unixware 2.03 README FOR: TF2223 PRODUCT AND VERSION: UnixWare 2.03 Abstract -------- System will not reboot after a panic when AUTOBOOT=YES is configured. Symptom -------- The sysdump hangs the kernel. When system is configured with "AUTOBOOT=YES", after quitting from kdb, the systems hangs instead of dumping system image and rebooting. SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ Apply the tf2223 file. Installation Instructions: DATATYPE: datastream 1. Download the tf2223.Z and the tf2223.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/tf2223.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2223 General Description. ------------------- The sysdump was hanging the kernel in mp systems. The fix is only for the MP systems with osmp package installed. The sysdump module for mp systems has been modified. New Features. ------------ None Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This ptf can be installed on UnixWare 2.03 systems which have osmp package installed for multiprocessor support. The package has been tested on 2.03 mp system. The sysdump does not hang the kernel anymore. After installing the package, generate a panic with CTRL-ALT-P ket sequence and quit at the kdb prompt. The system dump starts and the system automatically reboots after the dump is finished.
