TITLE: TF2212 - ODM patch for wide SCSI IDs README FOR: TF2212 PRODUCT AND VERSION: UnixWare 2.01, UnixWare 2.02, UnixWare 2.03 Installation Instructions: DATATYPE: datastream 1. Download the tf2212.Z and tf2212.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file and follow the instuctions to add the package to your system. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/tf2212.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2212 Abstract -------- ODM does not recognize disks with SCSI ID greater than 7. Symptom -------- ODM does not recognize disks with scsi id's greater than 7. The Volume Manager can not add the disk because the device is displayed as /dev/rdsk/cxbxtedx, instead of /dev/rdsk/cxbxt14dx (for a fast/wide/scsi disk with id 14). SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ The vxdevlist command was enhanced to allow for a double digit target ID number. The vxparms and vxconfigd commands were enhanced to print this value. General Description. ------------------- When the fix is applied, any disks with a large SCSI ID number will print correctly and can be added with vxinstall or vxdiskadd. New Features. ------------ None. Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF can be installed on UnixWare 2.01, UnixWare 2.02 and UnixWare 2.03 systems. Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom"). Such testing consists of recreating the problem conditions and verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done.
