Download the tf2165.Z and tf2165.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file and follow the instuctions to add the package to your system. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/tf2165.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2165 ENGINEERING RELEASE NOTES ------------------------- Title ----- PTF2165 - "lp cmd patch" Product And Version ------------------- UnixWare 2.01, UnixWare 2.02, and the scheduled release of UnixWare 2.03. Abstract -------- This patch installs the following updated file: /usr/bin/lp Symptom -------- This ptf fixes a problem that occurs when lp command is issued with -H hold -o -y options. In this case, later when executing the lp command with -H resume to resume the held request, the -o and -y options information are lost in the new request file (/var/spool/lp/tmp/xxx/request-id). SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ General Description. ------------------- This patch eliminats the above symptom. When lp command is issued with -H resume to resume the held request without the new -o -y options, the old options information will be re-applied to the new request file. New Features. ------------ None Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF can be installed on UnixWare 2.01 thru 2.03 systems. This PTF will need to be reinstalled following the installation of a subsequent Update (thru 2.03). Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom"). Such testing consists of recreating the problem conditions and verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done.
