Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/tf2133.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2133 ENGINEERING RELEASE NOTES ------------------------- Title ----- PTF2133 - /usr/lib/fs/nfs/mount patch Product And Version -------------------- UnixWare 2.01, UnixWare 2.02 Abstract -------- This patch installs the following updated file: /usr/lib/fs/nfs/mount Symptom -------- This ptf fixes a problem that occurs when nfs mountall is executed simultaneously among more than 10 systems. Under these circumstances, some of the systems may report a mount failure. SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ General Description. ------------------- This patch modified the handling of clnt_call() of nfs mount command. When a timeout occurs, clnt_call() will retry the same transport service 5 times before it reports a failure. New Features. ------------ None Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF can be installed on UnixWare 2.01 thru 2.02 systems which have the Network File System Utilities (nfs) package installed. Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom"). Such testing consists of recreating the problem conditions and verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done.
