Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/tf2117.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2117 ENGINEERING REALEASE NOTES -------------------------- Title ----- PTF2117 - TTY Port Monitor Patch Product And Version ------------------- UnixWare 2.01, UnixWare 2.02 Abstract -------- The TTY Monitor disables a serial port erronously has been fixed. Symptom -------- The TTY Port Monitor disables a serial port after a rapid number of failed accesses when the port is being used by another system functionality such as Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP). SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ General Description. ------------------- The TTY Port Monitor now waits 60 seconds between access attempts when the failure is an EAGAIN or EBUSY error and does NOT disable the serial port when it happens. When this situation occurs, the following message is logged to /var/saf/ttymonX/log: Errno is EAGAIN or EBUSY, will try again later New Features. ------------ None. Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF can be installed on UnixWare 2.01 and UnixWare 2.02. If installed on UnixWare 2.01 and UnixWare Update 2.02 is installed at some future date, this PTF DOES NOT need to be re-installed after UnixWare Update 2.02. Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom"). Such testing consists of recreating the problem conditions and verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done.
