Symptom -------- The /usr/bin/ps command does not display NIS information properly since it is built with static libraries. The /etc/init.d/nis startup script populates the /etc/ps_data using /sbin/ps and the NIS information is not setup correctly. SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ General Description. ------------------- The /usr/bin/ps command was re-built using dynamic libraries so that NIS configured systems display all NIS data properly. When the system is booted, the NIS startup script populates the /etc/ps_data file with NIS information properly using /usr/bin/ps instead of /sbin/ps. New Features. ------------ None. Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF should ONLY be installed on UnixWare 2.01 systems that have the Network Information Services, nis, package installed. Hardware Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF is targeted for the i386, i486 and Pentium CPU's.
