Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress tf2064.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2064 ENGINEERING REALEASE NOTES -------------------------- Title ----- PTF2064 - Compaq Video Update Product And Version ------------------- UnixWare 2.01 with Compaq Update Abstract -------- The Compaq Video Update includes the following: Display Setup and QVision 1280 video driver changes for proper initialization of QVision 1280/P video card, to resolve possible conflicts between QVision 1280/P video card and other PCI cards. Symptom ------- When selecting a 256 color video mode on an EISA or PCI QVision 1024/1280 video card, the system may lock up or experience other strange behavior. This results from a conflict between the memory addresses used by the QVision video driver and another PCI card. One possible conflict is with the Compaq PCI SCSI card. Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF requires UnixWare 2.01. If you are not running UnixWare 2.01, do NOT install this PTF. Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom").
