Download the tf2042.Z and tf2042.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file and follow the instuctions to add the package to your system. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/tf2042.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2042 ENGINEERING REALEASE NOTES -------------------------- Title ----- TF2042 - Driver update for multiple printers Product And Version ------------------- UnixWare 2.0 and UnixWare 2.0.1 Abstract -------- This PTF contains updates to the UnixWare printing system. These updates allow the printer driver to better handle multiple printer interfaces. Symptom -------- A second parallel port added to the system prints one character every five seconds. SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ General Description. ------------------- The updated printer driver in this PTF correctly initializes all parallel interfaces installed on the system. The old driver initialized only one of the interfaces correctly. New Features. ------------ None Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF can be installed on UnixWare 2.0 and UnixWare 2.0.1 systems. Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom"). Such testing consists of recreating the problem conditions verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done. Hardware Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF is targeted for the i386, i486 and Pentium CPU's. Installation Instructions. ------------------------- Make sure that all print jobs have finished printing before installing this PTF. This PTF will stop and restart the printing subsystem so that it can rebuild and reload the printer driver. This PTF should be installed after the 'osmp' package has been installed on a multi-processor system.
