SYMPTOM Lack of security in Sendmail 8.6.9 SOLUTION Apply the tf2003 file. Installation Instructions: DATATYPE: datastream 1. Download the tf2003 and tf2003.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file and follow the instuctions to add the packages to your system. 3. Now become root, and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # pkgadd -d /tmp/tf2003 tf2003 Solution Specifics General Description ------------------- This PTF contains Version 8.6.10 of Eric Allman's 'sendmail' along with an updated 'm4' macro processor. New Features ------------ Version 8.6.10 of sendmail has added security checks to prevent privileged access by both remote and local clients of sendmail. The updated version of the 'm4' macro processor fixes a problem that can be encountered when parsing sendmail configuration scripts written in 'm4'.
