Installation Instructions:  

DATATYPE: tar

1.  Download the dppp2x.tar and dppp2x.txt files to the /tmp directory
    on your machine.

2.  Expand the dppp2x.tar file into the /tmp directory using the following 
    commands from a terminal window of the UNIX command line:

     # cd /tmp
     # tar xvf /tmp/dppp2x.tar


3.  Read the solution specifics area below for specific instructions 
    for applying the patch.

ABSTRACT:

The dppp2x.tar file contains pppsetup - Dynamic PPP Configuration Utility
for all 2.0 systems. This utility will not work with the default ppp program.  
You will need to get tf2038 to use this utility on your 2.x system.
It must be used at your own risk.

Users have requested a utility to help configure PPP for UnixWare 2.x

Solution Specifics:

General Description:

These release notes acquaint you with the contents of dppp2x.tar.  The 
pppsetup utility allows users to setup their UnixWare 1.x or 2.0 systems 
to be a PPP host or client. Although the utilitiy will use and preserve 
information from existing PPP configuration information, it is always 
recommended to backup this information prior to running dnssetup.  Some 
problems related to setting up PPP on UnixWare are related to syntax errors.  
This utility should considerably reduce these errors.  The utility also 
makes it easy to maintain an existing PPP configuration.

New Features:

Pppsetup now sets up the Devices file and better handles editing the 
/etc/uucp/Systems file.

Software Notes and Recommendations:

This utility was designed to work on any 2.0 AS 
loaded.  The utility will only work on a PE with the Personal Utilities 
installed.  The program relies heavily on the awk, grep, and nawk commands.
