ABSTRACT:

The ptf679.dd.Z file contains PTF679 - Mitsumi FX CDROM support. 
PTF679 contains an updated version of the Mitsumi driver.  This 
version includes support for the Mitsumi FX CDROM models.  PTF679 
may be used as a IHV/HBA floppy, for use during initial installation 
of UnixWare 1.1 or PTF679 may be used to pkgadd Mitsumi support at 
any time after the initial installation.  If you already have Mitsumi 
support on your system and you would like to obtain Mitsumi FX CDROM 
support, you must first remove the current Mitsumi package (via the 
pkgrm command) and then add PTF679 (via the pkgadd command. )

Installation Instructions:

DATATYPE: compressedimage

Download the ptf679.dd.Z and the ptf679.txt files to the /tmp directory
on your machine.

To create a diskette from an IHV HBA disk image file included in this PTF,
become superuser and format a 3.5 inch 1.44MB diskette using:

        $ su
                provide root password at Password: prompt
                place a 3.5 inch high density disk in the floppy drive

        # format -v /dev/rdsk/f03ht  ( f13ht if it's the b: drive )

Now uncompress the file using:

        # uncompress ptf679.dd.Z

Now dd the image onto the disk using:

        # dd if=/tmp/ptf679.dd of=/dev/dsk/f03ht bs=1024k

                note path to dd image may be different
                use f13ht of it's the b: drive

These release notes acquaint you with the contents of UnixWare 
PTF679 - Mitsumi FX CDROM support.

2. New Features

PTF679 contains an updated version of the Mitsumi driver.  This version
includes support for the Mitsumi FX CDROM models.
     
3. Software Notes and Recommendations

PTF679 may be used as a IHV/HBA floppy, for use during initial 
installation of UnixWare 1.1 or PTF679 may be used to pkgadd 
Mitsumi support at any time after the initial installation.  If 
you already have Mitsumi support on your system and you would like 
to obtain Mitsumi FX CDROM support, you must first remove the current 
Mitsumi package (via the pkgrm command) and then add PTF679 (via
the pkgadd command).

If you choose to remove (un-install) PTF679 and restore your system to its
original condition, please enter the following command:

     # pkgrm ptf679

Once the kernel is rebuilt it is necessary to re-boot the system.
