Download the ptf271.Z and ptf271.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file and follow the instuctions to add the package to your system. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/ptf271.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf271 ENGINEERING RELEASE NOTES ------------------------- Title ----- PTF271 - doscp patch Product And Version ------------------- UnixWare 1.1.1, UnixWare 1.1.2, UnixWare 1.1.3, UnixWare 1.1.4 Abstract -------- This patch installs the following updated file: /usr/bin/doscp Symptom -------- This patch is to fix the following two problems: 1) doscp(1) command returns successfully when the file system is full. As a result, the destination file size is less than the original file size but the users never know unless they check it. 2) When executing doscp(1) command to copy a unix file to a dos file system with the absolute path, it failed with the following message: $doscp /etc/passwd a:/passwd doscp: no matching target pathname SOLUTION SPECIFICS ------------------ General Description. ------------------- This patch eliminated the above symptoms. The new doscp(1) command will report an error message when the file system reaches full and will allow the target dos file with the full path specified. New Features. ------------ None Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This PTF can be installed on UnixWare 1.1.1 thru 1.1.4 systems which have the Enhanced Application Compatibility (acp) package installed. Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom"). Such testing consists of recreating the problem conditions and verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done.
