Download the ptf244.Z and ptf244.txt files to the /tmp directroy on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file and follow the instuctions to add the package to your system. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/ptf244.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf244 ENGINEERING REALEASE NOTES -------------------------- 1. General Description These release notes acquaint you with the contents of UnixWare PTF244 - Fix for uw1.1 mail scripts. This package modifies the mail scripts after saving the originals to a save directory. 2. Software Notes and Recommendations This package is for update112 and update113 only. ptf179 is included in this ptf as it requires ptf179. Number of problems are fixed by this package by modifying the mail related shell and perl scripts. The list of problems fixed are as below: 1. Sending attachments with UW1.x mail causes error message. 2. An extra space between "domain" and the domain name in resolv.conf causes problems. 3. "From" line not being RFC822 compliant. 4. Errors in smf-poll and smf-out cause NetWare connectivity problems. 5. Syntax errors in mailsurr.proto cause MHS mail to not function properly. 6. Mail is not received on a UW system addressed to user@domain. 7. UW1.1 mail doesn't work with other Sendmail systems on the same local domain. 8. Lack of -r on smtp line in inetd.conf causes bang style addressing. Testing of the modified software contained in this package has been conducted only to the extent necessary to confirm that it resolves the problem(s) stated above ("Symptom"). Such testing consists of recreating the problem conditions and verifying that the problem no longer occurs. No other testing of this software has been done. 3.
