Installs a new nfs driver to correct a potential PANIC which can occur when an already-shared filesystem is again shared (perhaps to grant access by additional systems) while NFS operations are in progress on the filesystem. This patch requires UnixWare 1.1.1, UnixWare 1.1.2, or UnixWare 1.1.3. SYMPTOM The symptom is a PANIC, as described in the Abstract. SOLUTION Apply the ptf200 file. Installation Instructions: DATATYPE: datastream 1. Download the ptf200.Z and ptf200.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file and follow the instuctions to add the packages to your system. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress /tmp/ptf200.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf200 ptf200 Solution Specifics General Description. ------------------- This patch installs an new "nfs" driver with updates to insure that kernel data structures used during filesystem operations are not freed while the operation is still in progress. New Features. ------------ None Software Notes and Recommendations. ---------------------------------- This patch should be installed on all UnixWare 1.1.1, 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 systems. If Update 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 is installed after installing this patch, it must be reinstalled (it is recommended, but not required, that this patch be removed before installing any Update, then subsequently reinstalled).
