Download the ptf198.tar.Z, ptf198hba.sh, and ptf198.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file. 3. Now become root, and create the hba diskette. (This assumes that ptf198.tar.Z is in the /tmp directory, and that /tmp is the working directory.) $su (become the super user) #/tmp/ptf198hba.sh ptf198.tar.Z (This script will format and create the HBA diskette for you.) 4. You can now add the patch to your system via the pkgadd command or use the diskette at installation time as an additional hba diskette. #pkgadd -d diskette1 (This will add the package to an existing UnixWare system) ENGINEERING RELEASE NOTES ------------------------- Title ----- PTF198 - Fix for adsa driver Abstract -------- PTF198 - Fix for adsa driver to take care of mutiple boards at the the time of installation. This package has adsa driver in HBA fromat. Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- This ptf is meant for UnixWare 1.x releases at the time of installation. Also it has the latest driver from Adaptec as of 1/18/95. The adsa driver supports 2 AHA-2740's or 1 AHA-2740T during installation. After installation, up to 8 SCSI channels are supported, either with 4 AHA-2740T's or 8 AHA-2740's or some mixture of the two that adds up to 8 SCSI channels in total. As it is HBA floppy, it has the driver in pkgadd format. This is an s5 type floppy. Hardware Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- No specific Hardware. Installation Instructions ------------------------- The script ptf198hba.sh should be used to create hba floppy. And then pkgadd -d diskette1 should install this driver. Inserted at the time of installation when the system requests the HBA floppy, if Adaptec 2740 is present in your system.
