SYMPTOM When specifying lp -d printername -nX filename to get X copies, X squared was printed. SOLUTION Apply the ptf182 file. Installation Instructions: DATATYPE: datastream 1. Download the ptf182.Z and ptf182.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $ su # uncompress ptf182.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf182 ptf182 Solution Specifics 1. General Description These release notes acquaint you with the contents of UnixWare PTF182 - Fix for lpNet to print multiple copies to NetWare. This package has lpNet in pkgadd fromat. 2. Software Notes and Recommendations This package is meant for UnixWare Release 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 only. This ptf contains the fix to the lpNet binary to pass the number of copies properly, by taking care of filters. Problem was, if tried to print n copies using lp to a remote NetWare printer (while the printer is a postscript printer) it used to print n*n copies. Once this ptf is installed there is no need for rebooting the machine. Infact nothing needs to be done. lpshut and lpsched commands are executed by the postinstall script to stop and re-start the print services. 3.
