This package has the enhanced st01 driver in pkgadd format. This patch requires UnixWare v1.1. This patch is replaced by update 1.1.2 SYMPTOM Can not back up more then 512MB with standard tape device. This ptf was re-delivered 7/11/94 to correct problems which caused panic in some specific cases. SOLUTION Apply the ptf126 file. Installation Instructions: DATATYPE: datastream 1. Download the ptf126.Z and ptf126.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file. 3. Now become root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using the following commands: $su #uncompress /tmp/ptf126.Z #pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf126 ptf126 Solution Specifics 1. This package has the enhanced st01 driver in pkgadd format. This ptf is a re-release ( version 1.2). 2. New Features Support for backing up more than 512 MB of data to a tape device. 3. Software Notes and Recommendations This driver needs UnixWare 1.1 to be installed on the system. After this package is added the system is to be rebooted to incluse the new driver in the system kernel. The old driver will be saved in the directory /var/sadm/pkg/ptf126/etc/conf/pack.d/st01. In case if the package can not be removed using pkgrm, restore the system by copying Driver.o from the above specified directory to /etc/conf/pack.d/st01. And also the directory "/var/sadm/pkg/ptf126" is to be removed from the system. Then the kernel is to be rebuilt and the system is to be rebooted with new kernel.
