The nvtconn patch addresses the issue where NVT users receive the message: No remote login ports available 1. when they attempt to make an NVT connection to an application server. This problem was caused by the lack of an NVT connection timeout. This patch is also included in UnixWare update 1.1.1. If you have update 1.1.1 installed on your system, you do not need this patch. SYMPTOM This patch addressed a problem where NVT connections would not timeout and eventually none would be available to NVT users. SOLUTION After installation of this patch, NVT connections that have been terminated will timeout within 5 minutes, freeing up those connections for other NVT users. Apply the ptf104 file. Installation Instructions: DATATYPE: datastream 1. Dowload the ptf104.Z and ptf104.txt files to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. Read the release notes contained in this file. 3.
