Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf4030e, the SCO UnixWare 2.1 Network Printing Supplement, addresses all of the issues listed below. SLS ptf4030b addressed these issues: 1. PC-NFS printing can generate lpsched core dump (SIGSEGV) in getenv(). 2. Printing from SCO UnixWare to NT hangs. 3. SCO UnixWare 2.1.2 systems, receiving lpd/bsd prints from NetWare 4.11's NetWare-Unix Print Services 2.11, convert non-printable characters to the ASCII equivalent causing the printout to be incorrect. 4. If a print job is sent to a disabled printer, which is subsequently manually enabled, the job will print. However, the print subsystem will still try to re-enable the printer after 5 minutes. Because the printer is already enabled, the re-enable will fail. This causes the subsystem to assume that the printer is still faulty and therefore disable it. A retry will then occur 5 minutes later. SLS ptf4030c addressed this issue: 5. If the lp command is executed with a long filename and a lot of files specified, the lpsched daemon dies with SIGSEGV. SLS ptf4030d addressed this issue: 6. Occasionally, 'lpsched' stops printing the remote printer requests. The only way to restart it is to run 'lpshut' and then restart 'lpsched'. SLS ptf4030e additionally addresses this issue: 7. If a user cancels a job, lpsched sees the lpNet as busy and never sends the cancel job. The job will be shown as canceled (lpstat) but will not be removed.
